Important Update on EDGE's Response to the COVID-19

First and foremost, thank you all for the hard work you’re doing every day. In times like these, maintaining the health and productivity of EDGE’s employees, clients and their tenants is literally in your hands.

As the worldwide status of the coronavirus continues to top nearly every news media outlet, state and local officials are working hard to equip employers and residents in their respective communities with the tools needed to prevent spread of the virus as well as any unnecessary fear and panic. As of today, Arizona has 9 confirmed cases(confirmed and presumptive), you can follow the updates here: https://www.azdhs.gov/preparedness/epidemiology-disease-control/infectious-disease-epidemiology/index.php#novel-coronavirus-home Nonetheless, the focus continues to be on prevention and keeping the general public up-to-date with any change in these statistics.

What are we doing?

  • We are issuing some refresher training on some of the chemicals you’ll notice at your sites. We’re working to stock up on the supplies you notice running out quickly.

  • We’ve offered to our customers a variety of service offerings to help combat the virus challenges. (click on the links to watch a quick video on what it is)

  1. Touch Point Cleaners - this is an extra person we're adding to the staff to help do frequent wipe-downs of all the high-touch areas.

  2. Kaivac Restroom System

  3. Victory Sprayer System

  4. Clorox 360 Systems

  • We are offering you overtime opportunities to help us fill in where there are shortages or Touch Point Cleaner openings.

  • We are educating our customers on all the ways in which our cleaning process already helps prevent the spread.

  • We are asking you to understand how important your role is.

What can you do?

  • It is crucial to do a thorough cleaning and wipe down of all surfaces, when this is your responsibility.

  • For our restroom cleaners, it’s vital you continue to complete each and every cleaning procedure step-by-step. If you do not have a copy of these procedures, please ask your manager.

  • Your health is a key factor; please take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and those around you. Always wear your PPE! If you are out of gloves or anything else you need to stay protected please notify us immediately.

  • If you have a lingering cough from a cold or maybe you’re getting over the flu, please ask your manager for a face mask. It’s important we don’t spread our own germs, even though we may not be infected ourselves with this virus.

  • If you yourself are experiencing shortness of breath and a fever of 100.4 or more, you may want to consider seeking medical attention. For those of you who are currently enrolled in a company EMI Health care plan, you have the option to call the TeleMed service: (877) 872-0370. They can remotely evaluate your symptoms and recommend either a doctor’s visit or just a prescription. Remember to let your manager know if you are unable to go to work. See the “Stop the Spread” sheet and the “Factsheet” to learn more about the symptoms and other preventative measures you can take. Remember the customer is watching how we handle this. They’re watching how you clean, the rags and the methods you use are being scrutinized. Please be mindful of this and remember to wipe down handles and buttons you’ve touched before you leave an area.

Other Important Information:

  • If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, you are required to notify your employer in order to maintain the safety of your coworkers and the occupants of the buildings we service. We will notify you immediately if we are made aware of a diagnosis that puts you at risk of exposure.

  • You may be asked to complete questionnaires by our customers, in their efforts to contain the virus and protect you and those in the buildings you clean. Please cooperate with these requests, if you are being asked for any personal information you think is not applicable (social security numbers, legal status, address, ect) please do not answer those questions and notify me or your manager immediately.

  • If our customers go to you with questions, please let them know you will let someone know to get back to them and you should Immediately notify your manager.

Thank you again, we appreciate you being a part of this global solution!
