Additional Safety Measures

Your health and safety is very important to us and to those around you.  We are monitoring all CDC, OSHA, and EEOC guidelines and making changes as we see fit and as required.  We are considering any safety measures recommended by those organizations in order to maintain a healthy and safe work environment for everyone.

Here are some additional steps we’ll be taking to further mitigate risk and some other important reminders:

Temperature Screening

Going forward, any employee whose job requires them to be in multiple locations (Mulit-Location Cleaners, Route Managers, and Special Services team members) you will be screened for above average temperatures beginning on 4/21/2020. Your temperature will be taking by a screener, a manager or supervisor who’s received training. They will be using an infrared temperature device.  If you are asked for your temperature using any other method please let HR immediately.

  • Your screener is required to wear a mask and gloves before performing any screening.

  • You must clock in BEFORE your temperature reading.

  • If your temperature reads 100 degrees or higher, you will be asked to go home immediately to seek medical diagnosis and to monitor your own symptoms for a minimum of 3 days, and you will be given the option to use Emergency Sick Leave or PTO during this time.

  • If you do not wish to have your temperature monitored, we will look for a position for you that doesn’t require this additional safety measure, however a different position is not guaranteed.  All refusals will be treated as a high temperature scan and you will be asked to go home for 3 days to monitor symptoms.  If you intend to seek medical diagnosis during this 3 day period you may be eligible for Emergency Sick Leave.  If not, you can use any available PTO.

Bring Your Own Mask is now Authorized

We are stocking up on masks and maintaining a good amount in our storage, if you need a mask please ask your manager.  Additionally, if would like to wear a mask you made at home, you are now authorized to do so as long as it’s a solid color and is made following CDC guidelines.  Bringing your own mask is not required and they will continue to be made available to you.  Please ask your manager or supervisor.

Reminders

Wear your PPE

All employees should be wearing the appropriate PPE whenever required.  Here’s a reminder of when and which PPE applies:

Gloves –must be worn when performing ANY cleaning task.

Masks – must be worn when using harsh chemicals, and if you have a cough to prevent the spread of your germs

Goggles – must be worn when using heavy duty floor machines or harsh chemicals

If anyone is not getting the PPE necessary from their manager, please let HR know immediately.

Do not come to work sick

If you are sick please do not come to work.  Follow the CDC recommended guidelines if you are sick:https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/steps-when-sick.html [cdc.gov].   If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 please notify HR immediately.  If you a

Do not spread rumors about co-workers being sick

Please do not gossip with co-workers or customers about anyone’s personal situation.  Just because someone didn’t report to work does not mean they have been diagnosed with the virus.  It’s important we continue to be respectful of one another and our privacy.  If you are made aware of this type of gossip please notify HR immediately.
